Extremely Disappointing Experience with Car Rental

We booked a car through a platform and had a very unpleasant experience upon arrival at the airport. The staff attempted to convince us that the insurance we purchased through the platform was not valid. Their demeanor was threatening and condescending, claiming it was a major issue if customers booked through other services. They insisted we purchase their much more expensive insurance, which came with two additional deposits of €100 and €139, presented without a contract. They demanded payment before we could review any terms. If we refused their 'offer', we would have to leave a deposit of €2300 instead of €1100. While at the desk, we noticed two other customers facing the same situation. Ultimately, we left without a vehicle due to the dreadful treatment and experience. I promptly contacted the platform for a refund, but they refused to return the amount I had already paid. Overall, it was a waste of time and money, and the service was terrible. I cannot recommend this rental service at all, and I would hesitate to endorse the platform as well.

Lack of Vehicle Inspection Leads to Unfair Charges

It seems that the company at the airport does not properly inspect rental vehicles after customers who have insurance return them. They appear to focus their inspections on those who opt out of their insurance, charging them for damages that have accumulated from insured customers. Upon receiving the vehicle, I noticed significant damages that were hard to overlook, which I had to ask to be documented. Some minor damages were dismissed by the representative as too trivial to note. I chose not to purchase their insurance this time, as my travel insurance also covers the car. After returning the vehicle, the report I received included damages I had previously highlighted at checkout, which were deemed too small to record. Fortunately, I had taken photos to demonstrate that I did not cause those damages. However, I did discover additional scratches that I had missed during checkout, which is my oversight, and my insurance will need to cover those costs. If renting from this company at the airport without their insurance, I recommend using video to capture the entire vehicle to avoid missing any minor scratches. Additionally, insist on documenting any scratches, even if they are considered too small.

Credit card fraud concerns

The service is involved in fraudulent activities regarding customers' credit card information, making unauthorized charges months after rentals. While it seems to stem from rogue employees, customer support appears to be complicit. I rented a vehicle in June 2025 and was charged fraudulently in October.

Deceptive practices encountered

I would give negative stars if possible! They fraudulently charged me for insurance I never agreed to. I was asked to sign what I thought was a deposit to ensure the car was returned with fuel, only to later receive an email stating I was charged £340 for additional insurance. I had my own insurance through a third-party agent, and none of this was mentioned during the process. The paperwork was in a language I couldn't understand, and I was told I had to sign it to get the keys. After returning the car, I was informed about supposed damages that were not present when I returned it. They claimed my evidence of no damage was insufficient. I’m now having to dispute this with my credit card company for a refund. This has been a frustrating experience, and I will not be using their service again.

Terrible rental experience

This has been the worst car rental experience ever! We will never use this service again. Upon collecting the vehicle, we had to return to the office due to unrecorded marks on the car, which is evidently a common issue. After returning the vehicle, I received an email confirming no damage, only to be informed days later that there was damage. They failed to follow their own procedures, and my husband is currently trying to resolve this situation through emails. We frequently rent cars abroad and have never faced such issues before.

Frustrating deposit return process

This has been the worst experience with a rental service. I am still waiting for the return of my £3000 deposit taken from my account ten days after returning the vehicle. They claim I was charged £300 for a minor dent that was present during pick-up. I've sent several complaint emails with no response.

You’ll bond with fellow frustrated customers, creating a unique atmosphere. 3. Once you reach the agent after hours of waiting, they will give you their full attention with irresistible offers. 4. You might even receive a surprise vehicle that differs from what you ordered. 5. Collecting the key is a challenging process that tests your patience. 6. Be ready for a vehicle that may not be where you expect, and ensure you document any discrepancies, even if staff are absent. This service has truly become a source of cold experiences.

Strong warning against this service

A strong warning to anyone considering this rental service: avoid it! There are honest companies that do not attempt to deceive customers with false charges. They claim their insurance covers everything, but upon returning the vehicle, they suddenly find damage or dirt requiring extra fees. The customer service is unhelpful and seems designed to protect their dishonest practices. I will never rent from them again and urge others to choose a reputable company to avoid being scammed.
