I want to share my experience with a £150 gift voucher that my daughters bought for us last Christmas. Unfortunately, the entire experience has been very disappointing. When the voucher was purchased, my wife was receiving treatment for cancer. Due to her health, we couldn't plan a trip early in the year. Once she was better, we tried to use the voucher for a stay at a resort, only to find it could only be used for full flexible rates, making it more expensive than booking the discounted rates online. My wife needed this break for her recovery, so we had to book without the voucher. As the expiry date approached, we attempted to use it for a night away, only to learn that the stay had to occur before the expiry date, leaving us with hardly any time to use it. This was especially challenging as I had just undergone surgery. What hurts the most is the impact on our daughters, who saved their earnings to buy this thoughtful gift after a tough year. We reached out to the company for a reasonable extension, but they simply refused, showing no empathy or consideration. Having stayed at this resort several times, we expected better. After this experience, we will not return. The lack of compassion from a company that prides itself on hospitality has been incredibly disappointing. I urge anyone considering gift vouchers to be aware of the rigid terms and limited value they may offer.
