We had a gift voucher that was valid for one year, expiring on 01/01/2026. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen health issues, we couldn't use it in that time. When we reached out to the company, they refused to extend the voucher, even for a short period. This has been very disappointing, and I've never encountered such unhelpful service from a hospitality group.
I want to share my experience with a £150 gift voucher purchased for us by our daughters last Christmas, which has been extremely disappointing. My wife was undergoing treatment for breast cancer when the voucher was bought, making it impossible for us to plan a trip early in the year. Once she was well enough, we tried to use the voucher for a stay at a resort on May 1st, only to find out it could only be applied to full flexible rates, which were more expensive than the discounted rates available online. Consequently, we had to book without the voucher, despite my wife's need for a break during her recovery.
Later in the year, as the voucher's expiry date approached, we attempted to use it for a night away. We discovered that the stay had to occur before the expiry date, leaving us with less than a week to use it when I had just undergone back surgery, making travel impossible.
The most upsetting part is the impact on our daughters, who saved their money from minimum-wage jobs to buy this thoughtful gift after a tough year. Their message on the voucher expressed hope for a return to normalcy, and it breaks our hearts that their gesture has gone to waste.
We reached out to the company to explain our situation and requested a short extension or some flexibility, but we were simply told they could not provide any extensions. There was no consideration or empathy shown, despite our circumstances.
As a family who has enjoyed stays at the resort multiple times, we expected better. We had hoped to return for my wife’s birthday in April 2026, but after this experience, we will not be returning.
For a company that prides itself on hospitality, their lack of empathy and unwillingness to honor a meaningful gift during a medical hardship has been incredibly disappointing. I advise anyone considering purchasing gift vouchers from this company to be cautious of their rigid terms and limited practical value.

I wish I had checked the reviews before booking this hotel. I paid £122 for bed, breakfast, and a bottle of Prosecco through a voucher, but ended up having the worst night's sleep in a small, uncomfortable bed. The chef didn’t show up, so there was no breakfast, and they initially offered a glass of Prosecco instead of a bottle in the morning. After complaining, I finally received the bottle. I would never stay here again.
I had an awful experience at a local hotel during a two-day stay. Our room was not serviced despite us following all protocols. We were left without toilet paper, clean drinking water, and dirty towels. I had to bring my own supplies. This was particularly upsetting as I’m dealing with terminal illness and we were celebrating our anniversary. When we raised our concerns, we were accused of lying. At this hotel, it seems the customer is always wrong!
I visited a local spa recently, and the facilities were excellent, featuring both indoor and heated outdoor pools. I enjoyed a couple of relaxing massages with quality products. The staff member was highly skilled and knowledgeable. The afternoon tea was delightful and served in a calming environment.
This hotel is in terrible condition. Our room looked like it was from the 1970s, with a filthy carpet and a musty smell. We found mould in the bath and old furniture, along with only two plug sockets—neither by the bed! The pool area was laughably dirty, with cups everywhere and old towels scattered about. The changing room was in worse shape, with mouldy showers and filthy floors. The communal areas resembled a two-star hotel at best. There's no way this place deserves four stars; I recommend staying anywhere else.
I strongly advise against this wedding venue. They failed to meet several key commitments and were unresponsive to our concerns, both in person and in writing. The entire experience was incredibly disappointing, and I recommend looking for alternatives.
The hotel cancelled my best friend’s wedding booking just eight weeks before the event, citing sudden renovations. It’s hard to believe such major work could come up without warning. They are now trying to shift the blame onto my friends, creating a chaotic situation as all guests scramble to adjust their plans. This behavior is truly unacceptable, and I expected much better from this hotel chain. I strongly advise against using them.
