Approved as Compliant, Then Terminated Without Warning!
Before setting up my MailerLite account, I contacted support to confirm that my intended email usage would comply with their policies. I clearly described my direct sales business model, the company I work with, and the types of emails I intended to send, including customer support and education emails and limited consultant support resources.
I was advised that my practices complied with MailerLite’s Terms and Anti-Spam policies.
Based on that advice, I purchased an annual plan and invested many hours building my system and migrating my customer database.
My account was then permanently terminated without warning after being classified as MLM.
No specific content was ever identified as breaching their Terms, and I was not given any opportunity to make changes. Even after termination, when I again described my business and intended email use, MailerLite support advised that my practices complied with their policies.
I made repeated efforts to have the decision properly reviewed and to have MailerLite identify the actual issue or reconsider the termination, as the decision did not make sense based on the information provided. These requests were not meaningfully addressed.
A business should be able to rely on clear compliance guidance before investing significant time building a system. Approving a customer’s stated use and then terminating the account for the same activities, without warning or clear explanation, shows a serious lack of consistency and due process.
