Major cars won my car though and Internet auction. When they came on a Sunday the 'expert' mechanic plugged it in looked at the engine and then said coolant low (i agree it was low) and that this was a sign of a cracked head. Implied they had pressure tested it and was probably only worth scrap but offered less than half but more than scrap (first red flag). He suggested I don't drive it as it was dangerous (second red flag). He also used the fact there was white smoke coming out the exhaust as proof of a leak. My car had been sat for more than a month with one 20 min drive. I declined the 'offer' Roll on a few days later I get a garage to assess it. Less than 300ml coolant was needed but no leak whatsoever, was pressure tested for an hour...no leaks anywhere...so from my perspective this dealer tried to get my car for dirt cheap with other disclosed issues and not only was there no cracked head. There was NO leak...so draw your own conclusions but I for one would be wary of this place and get your own independent check.
