I booked a "Family Room" for 4 adults at Coastal Grand Mahendravanam via MakeMyTrip for stay on 27-03-2026. Upon arrival, the property lacked basic amenities: no power backup, no functioning lift, and no drinking water. The hotel manager (Karthick) admitted these failures via WhatsApp but failed to refund the amount.
MakeMyTrip is refusing a full refund, offering only a 25% "goodwill" gesture for a room that was physically non-functional. This is a "Gross Deficiency in Service" under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Relief Sought: Full refund of ₹5,701 + reimbursement for Salem Junction stay (₹452) + ₹5,000 for mental agony. Total: ₹11,153.
