I am writing this review after a second, unauthorized charge from this company. The billing system is fundamentally flawed, and the customer service is unreliable.
The initial incident occurred when I attempted to downgrade my subscription from what I believed was the Pro 400 plan. The system repeatedly failed to register my downgrade, resulting in an unauthorized charge for the much more expensive Pro 750 plan. After submitting a request through their online chat app (AI) it took 2 weeks and multiple follow ups to get a human email response. I had to go through a lengthy email exchange to resolve this, where I explained that the only way for my settings to persist was to downgrade all the way to the "free" tier. While the first charge was eventually refunded, the process was frustrating and wasted my time.
Shockingly, the issue has now recurred. Despite my previous attempt to ensure my subscription was correctly downgraded to the $20, I was recently charged a massive $440.00 for the month of March in what appears to be the same exact manner—a subscription level being applied or reactivated without my authorization.
This demonstrates a critical, unresolved bug in the billing system that is costing customers money. This is not a simple mistake; it's a recurring failure that has now hit me twice, with the second being extremely financially impactful. I urge anyone considering this service to be very wary of their payment platform and hidden charges. The burden of monitoring and fighting their automated system is not worth the service.
It's a shame because Manus itself i pretty good and i find it super useful. But Ill just have to seek something else.
