First time using this service.
I usually use the same supplier got any timber i need which usually have ok prices. However this time I was ordering it seems a bit pricey, then Materials Market popped up on Facebook to seen what it would cost. £100 cheaper on a order originally costing £370, so quite a decent saving.
Basically what i think happens is Material Market kind of drop ship the materials from a local supplier who fulfill the order.
The company who delivered the items was one i had used in the past but hadn't used for a while, so while they might have made less on this order from materials Market, they have made profit as I was going to order from elsewhere. So I've saved which im happy about, materials Market got a sale and a new customer for the future. The supplier who delivered the good, albeit at a reduced price than they would I've got from their own sales(website). They still made some profit from it, so all winners in this case.
Great idea to keep building materials very competitive. Items that I ordered arrived well, and in good time, delivery driver was polite and items was of good quality, odd length of wood was a bit warped/bowed but, but come off a huge pack so just one of them things with natural timber.
