The way my elderly mother was treated in the A&E department was completely unacceptable. She visited the A&E on December 16, 2025, after a serious fall at home, resulting in a significant cut on her right leg. The Triage nurse was dismissive, stating that a plastic surgeon was needed and that the facility didn’t have one, which we later discovered was untrue. Despite my mother's age and her state of shock, the nurse expected her to walk to another facility. There was no effort to clean or dress her wound. Reluctantly, the nurse agreed to take my mother to the other facility, where she was forced outside into the cold. Another nurse there cleaned and dressed her wound and confirmed that no plastic surgeon was needed. My mother is still recovering at home. The lack of respect, dignity, and empathy she received left her feeling shaken and humiliated. She has been a patient at this facility for many years and has seen multiple doctors. The treatment she received was disgraceful.
