Unacceptable A&E treatment for my elderly mother

The treatment my elderly mother received in the A&E department was entirely unacceptable. She arrived on December 16, 2025, after suffering a severe fall at home, resulting in a significant cut on her right leg. The Triage nurse was dismissive, claiming that a plastic surgeon was necessary and that the facility didn't have one, which we later found out was false. Despite her age and being in shock, the nurse expected her to walk to another facility. There was no effort made to clean or dress her wound. Reluctantly, the nurse agreed to escort my mother to the other facility, where another nurse confirmed that no plastic surgeon was required. My mother is still recovering at home. The lack of respect, dignity, and empathy shown to her left her feeling shaken and humiliated. She has been a patient here for many years and has seen several doctors. The treatment she received was appalling.

Grateful for exceptional care

I want to express my gratitude to the staff for their outstanding work, from reception to the nurses and specialists. I underwent two procedures in the last two weeks, conducted by a skilled doctor and his team. Additionally, the music playlist during the procedures was fantastic. Thank you all very much!

Unacceptable treatment of an elderly patient

The way my elderly mother was treated in the A&E department was completely unacceptable. She visited the A&E on December 16, 2025, after a serious fall at home, resulting in a significant cut on her right leg. The Triage nurse was dismissive, stating that a plastic surgeon was needed and that the facility didn’t have one, which we later discovered was untrue. Despite my mother's age and her state of shock, the nurse expected her to walk to another facility. There was no effort to clean or dress her wound. Reluctantly, the nurse agreed to take my mother to the other facility, where she was forced outside into the cold. Another nurse there cleaned and dressed her wound and confirmed that no plastic surgeon was needed. My mother is still recovering at home. The lack of respect, dignity, and empathy she received left her feeling shaken and humiliated. She has been a patient at this facility for many years and has seen multiple doctors. The treatment she received was disgraceful.

Exceptional care throughout the process

My husband recently underwent spinal surgery at the facility. From our initial consultation to the completion of the operation, we can only express our immense gratitude to everyone involved. The secretary was incredibly understanding and ensured we received the earliest possible appointment, for which we were very thankful. Everything proceeded smoothly, and all staff were courteous and respectful at all times. The facility was immaculate. Despite the reason for our visit, it turned into a very positive experience.

Frustrating experience with scheduling

I attended for a long-awaited consultant appointment. I was nearly 40 minutes late due to transportation issues but chose not to cancel since I had waited so long. Upon arrival, there was no one waiting, and the receptionist told me to get a coffee while she spoke to the surgeon. After waiting two and a half hours without any contact, I felt left in the dark. If my appointment wasn’t available, she could have informed me.

Worth the visit to A&E

I walked into A&E with a shoulder injury after falling off my bike while commuting. I waited for a couple of hours, but was seen by a nurse first, then received an X-ray and got a prescription, leaving by lunchtime. I was very impressed given the number of patients. I understood the issue with my shoulder, received care instructions, and a week later got a reassuring call from the physiotherapist who scheduled an appointment.

Disappointing treatment compared to public facility

I felt treated dismissively by the doctor who seemed uninterested in my condition. I was discharged after one night but ended up going to another facility the following night, where I stayed for ten days with the same issue. The service I received was poor, and I was charged over €500 for the single night, in addition to my insurance.

Unsatisfactory accommodation

The accommodation was terrible; even a public hospital would offer better facilities. We chose this facility for my elderly parents because they see consultants here for regular check-ups. After three nights, despite attempts to keep them longer, we decided they would recover better at home, dreading the possibility of needing to return.

Excellent ENT care

I was referred for a detailed throat examination. Though I am usually quite anxious, the doctor quickly put me at ease, made a prompt diagnosis, and resolved the issue efficiently and professionally. The receptionist was also very kind in arranging my appointment and assisting me upon arrival.

Positive experience as a day patient

I recently attended as a day patient for a procedure and would like to thank the staff for their care. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly.
