Customer Service is a scam

I really love Maurices and have been an avid shopper for close to 20 years now. Honestly half my wardrobe is from this store which is why this upsets me so much. I won’t be spending a dime more at Maurices after my latest experience. During the most recent “Tick Tock” sale, I ordered a significant amount of clothing and accessories during the sale. I ordered online and during the check out process, I updated my shipping and billing address again. Now I haven’t lived at my previous address for 3 years and have updated my info on Maurice’s website a few times to reflect my new address. During the check out process, I noticed once again my old address was set as the default so I reentered my new address and deleted my previous address. Same for billing, updating my card on file and associated address. Before checking out I checked to make sure both addresses were correct before submitting. Once I submitted, I did not receive the confirmation email right away and did not think to check for it when it wasn’t in my inbox initially. I went on about my evening and later that night I checked again. That is when I noticed my billing address was correct but my shipping had once again reverted back to my previous address. I need to state here that my order was placed on Sunday evening so there was no “customer service” available to help that night. So I reached out via email as well as the “chat” option the next morning and was told repeatedly there was nothing to be done about the address, all changes needed to be made within 30 minutes of the order being submitted. I asked to just cancel the order and was told I could not cancel because it had been 30 minutes. Ok, so I asked what my options were since I could not change my address or cancel my order. I was told I could contact UPS once my order shipped to change my address for delivery. Well today I received my shipping notification so I did as I was told. I contacted UPS to change my address and initially was told it would be $48.62 PER package (I have at least 2 as of now) to change addresses. So it’s going to cost me close to $100 to change the delivery address. As I am trying to pay for this, UPS informs me that Maurices has restrictions placed on changing the address and I cannot complete the change of address. I’m honestly fuming. I have never experienced worse “customer service” in my life. I did everything I was told to do, and it was going to cost me $100 to change my address. And then PLOT TWIST: Maurices does not allow for address changes per UPS. I literally cannot do anything but tell my bank to dispute the charges at this point and hope they will get me my money back. I hope this is a lesson to anyone else not to trust this company. I’ve never been more disappointed. Buyer beware.
