Eli with Mayan Gateway is amazing! We had an amazing five day trip with our tour guide, Eli! We started in Guatemala City, then went to Antigua, then on to lake Atitlan, then onto Xela (Quetzaltenango). Thanks again for a great time! We 100% recommend Eli and Mayan Gateway!!
Eli provided adventurous and informative tours of Antigua and Lake Atitlán. We loved kayaking and swimming Lake Atitlán,the challenging Maya Rostro hike, and learning about Mayan chocolate, honey and weaving techniques. I highly recommend Trustpilot.
Eli was my tour guide over 2 weekends in Guatemala. He was spectacular in every way and made our trip exponentially better. He is knowledgeable in historical and cultural matters, he is adventurous and has a great sense of humor, he is respectful and tactful, I could go on and on. I would go to Guatemala and trust my trip with Mayan gateway ten times over!!!
I’ve been to Guatemala a couple times before this, but Mayan Gateway crafted a unique experience that connected us to the people, culture and food. Mayan Gateway is top tier. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to have a meaningful experience!
Everything about this trip was great! I just can’t imagine identifying the variety of experiences, the local - perfectly arranged - transport, the pre-arranged meals, and lodging and everything else on my own.I’ve traveled many places in the world and this is a first rate, best in class experience and our guide Eli was great with our group, very knowledgeable … and above else, just a super great guy!!10 out of 10 I highly recommend Mayan Gateway and especially our guide, Eli.
Our tour guide Eli was amazing!!! Born and raised Guatemala, taught us so much of the culture, history, and took us to the best food stops. Definitely enjoyed getting to know Eli and highly recommend him if you need someone that can speak English.
Our guide, Selvyn was polite, respectful, incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He showed us his country and its people with pride and we appreciated every minute spent with him. We were exhausted by the end of the trip but it was a happy exhaustion! The pace of the tour was perfect (although my husband had had enough of churches and markets by the end) and we would have even liked another day or two in Antigua to see a bit more. Mayan Gateway was easy to deal with, replied promptly to my questions and provided great solutions for our customised trip. The hotels chosen were exceptional both in location and comfort (with a slight exception of Jenna's River B&B which was not to our taste but it was pleasant). The vehicle we were driven in was clean and comfortable and Selvyn was a safe and confident driver even in the tiniest roads. All in all we felt that the trip was worth every penny!
Loved our 5 day experience with Mayan Gateway! We were traveling with a large youth group and they were able to transport us to all our amazing experiences conveniently and timely. Not only were the experiences and walking tours great, we stayed in great locations as well. It’s not easy feeding a large group but every meal location was delicious and well planned. Really appreciate the organization of everything. We learned a lot from our guide and he was very helpful throughout the trip. Highly recommended Mayan Gateway!
