I recently switched from Medibank to NIB because Medibank’s premiums had become too high. I had been with Medibank since 2017, but in the transfer certificate they sent to NIB, they incorrectly listed my policy as starting in 2025. Because of that error, NIB applied new waiting periods and rejected my dental claims.
When I contacted Medibank, they acknowledged the mistake and assured me that they would send a corrected transfer certificate to NIB. They did send the correct version to me, but unfortunately they sent the incorrect version again to NIB. Not sure if they have genuinely incompetent people employed or this is the way they treat those who leave them!!
