On 03/26/2026 I created a Curtains folder on MEGA.nz in the WEB version. I uploaded a video file Curtains.mp4 with a size of 18 GB to this folder. I right-clicked on the file "Share in Transfer.it" which gave full access to the file to those who have a link to this file (not to the folder). Then I transferred this link to the recipient. On 03/28/2026 I deleted this file from the Mega service. Then I deleted the folder itself from Mega, in which this file was located. Then I emptied my trash in Mega. That is, I destroyed all traces of the file. I opened the browser in incognito mode. I entered the same link in the search bar and ......... the file was downloaded completely!!! Then again and again. Several files of the same type have already been downloaded to the computer. Today is already 03/30/2026 and my file is still fully accessible and is distributed on the Internet. How can this be? And where is all your privacy and security? After all, when I created a link to access the file, the system did not warn me that from now on my file will be available to anyone forever. A MEGA user may be in danger for the rest of his life!

MEGA The Privacy Company was architected around the simple fact that cryptography, for it to be accepted and used, must not interfere with usability. MEGA is accessible without prior software installs and remains the only cloud storage provider with browser-based high- performance end-to-end encryption. Today, millions of business and personal users rely on MEGA to securely and reliably store and serve petabytes of data. We believe that this success is the result of MEGA's low barrier to entry to a more secure cloud.See more
