If you don't think you'll ever need to return an item - then Melissa and Doug is great! However, I purchased two toys for my son's first birthday and he ended up receiving the exact same toys from a family member. When I called to return (yes, called ...they don't make it easy. You need a authorization number), I was informed I had to pay the fees to ship back... well since they are wooden toys and quite large, the cost to ship back was about a 1/3 of the total amount for the toys, but I thought a small refund was better than nothing. I shipped the products back well over a month ago and never received an email saying "we've received your return, expect your refund in X number of days." So I waited. Two weeks after it arrived at their returns department, I reached out to their customer service via their Care@ email and provided my return authorization number. A couple days later I received a response that said, we are looking into it but nothing helpful. They had asked for my tracking number which I provided them the same day. Crickets since then. That was almost three weeks ago (from their email, not from when I shipped it back).I just sent another email hoping to hear back but I won't hold my breath. At this rate, I should have kept the extra toys and donated them.
