I had a mixed experience with Mercia Garden Products. The main issue initially was delivery. I booked a day off work to receive the order, only to be told the evening before that it wouldn’t fit on the delivery truck as it was already full. I was advised it would be rebooked, but it hadn’t actually been scheduled, so a second delivery date came and went with no delivery. Third time lucky, it eventually arrived. The delivery driver himself was pleasant and helpful. I’d largely got over this disappointment, but the warranty registration process then caused further frustration. The warranty process is overly complex and unhelpful. I followed the treatment guidance and used two different products recommended by B&Q, yet customer service repeatedly told me these were not acceptable. I’m an average DIYer, not a professional carpenter, and can only reasonably use products available from mainstream retailers like B&Q. After multiple attempts, I’ve given up trying to comply as it has taken far too much time and effort for something that should be straightforward. I’m also aware I’m covered by consumer law regardless. The product itself looks nice overall, but several panels were bowed, which made assembly more difficult than it should have been. On the positive side, there were plenty of spare screws, which was helpful.Nice product in the end, but the delivery issues and particularly the warranty requirements significantly let it down.
