I am a Psychology BSc student, and I joined the Meta-Analysis Academy on my first week of university. The course is usually targeted towards medical students and doing meta-analyses is not an easy skill, so I was very doubtful before starting the course whether it was a right fit with my current situation. However, the teaching materials and support offered by the community were excellent. After much perseverence, and trial and error, I was able to successfully complete the course. I am currently in my 3rd year of university, I have published 3 full-length (1 as a first author) and presented in an international conference. More importantly, conducting meta-analyses has severely enhanced my scientific skills, and given me a more evidence-based perspective of my field, which greatly improved my performance in my studies. So far, I have been a real standout in applications for internships and placements, and the strongest point of my curriculum are the publications I achieved due to the knowledge acquired in this course. I would definetly recommend this if you are interested in putting in the work to stand out. The course will not give you success and publications on its own. But it gives you an incredibly powerful knowledge base to stand out in your field, you just need to do it.
