Update: it turns out the parking fine wasn't for the mid-stay car park. It was for parking at a fast-food restaurant for 36 minutes. I apparently parked in a space for a coffee shop, but I didn't see any signs indicating this. The company's practices are unethical, and I'm not paying the fine. Previously, I researched parking options and found it free for up to an hour at the mid-stay car park. The barrier opened automatically when I left in under an hour, yet I received a fine stating I was there for 36 minutes, well within the limit. They likely do this regularly to collect payments. I will appeal, but the stress is unwelcome.
