Misleading import fees shown at checkout – led to extra €181 DHL demand, no refOrdered a gaming laptop (Order #1071525) from Microless in late January 2026. During checkout, the order details clearly displayed "Import Fees €188,88" as a separate line, shipping €33,87, subtotal €0, total €222,76 (or equivalent in AED). I completed payment believing all import duties, VAT, and customs fees were included and covered by the seller.
Upon arrival in Belgium, DHL Express sent a notification requiring an additional €181.06 for "invoerrechten en BTW" (import duties and VAT) via On Demand Payment. This was unexpected and contradicted the checkout information. I refused to pay and requested the shipment be returned to sender.
Microless support states that import fees "cannot be calculated or included in advance" for EU/Belgium and were only "added after the return" based on courier report. However, this contradicts their own shipping policy: "Delivery cost and import fees will be calculated on the checkout."
The displayed fees at purchase misled me into proceeding with the order. I have screenshots of the checkout page (with fees included), DHL demand (€181.06, waybill 7429943065), payment confirmation (2269.40 AED charged), and full email correspondence.
