W1 2018 washing machine doesn't work…

W1 2018 washing machine doesn't work when it is humid due to a design fault they introduced when they dropped mechanical controls in favour of insufficiently moisture-sealed digital touchscreens. I am sure Miele know about this fault but they do not acknowledge it anywhere. I wonder why?And like so many others have experienced, I also found it virtually impossible to get access to service - either online or in person. I eventually talked a Miele sales person in Australia into letting me talk to a technician about the fault (since my WM was out of a service area and Miele don't allow anyone else to service their machines). The technician pretty much confirmed my diagnosis. The Miele sales person also told me (~2 years ago) Miele were in the midst of a review/change of their technical servicing system. Judging by reviews, they have not improved. The design fault symptoms - in humid weather (the kind that Queensland experiences): I can't use any of the digital controls, only the mechanical programme setter (so lose all customisation, including temperature setting (and there are only TWO programmed cold settings - a 28min starch/ rinse &12 min rinse and the rest start at 40 degrees). Then if I am lucky enough that the digital start/stop button works (often this is also impossible), then the WM tootles constantly and stops randomly - often closing the programme down to 0.00. So imagine - just when the weather is getting more sticky and there is more washing to be done - your WM doesn't work. This all due to crappy touchscreen controls not sealed enough from moisture and which are undoubtedly damaging the WM motherboard - so i am sure the lifespan of my WM is being severely shortened. Yeah so much for their environmentally friendly credentials. I read that the switch from mechanical to touchscreen controls across so many appliances is because they are much cheaper (and hence profitable) to manufacture. Yeah i didn't notice a price cut either. The corporate sociopaths win again.I not only won't be buying Miele again, but i won't be buying any appliance with a touchscreen.
