Sadly l have to add to the many one star reviews for Miele.I bought a Miele oven, which was expensive for me but l wanted a premium quality reliable product that would last many years without any problems.My oven has the pyrolytic cleaning function which l have used twice in the four years since buying the oven. On the third occasion the door locking mechanism failed and so the function no longer works. Apparently despite only ever locking the door twice in four years this is down to wear and tear!!Miele have offered me 25% off parts (but haven't replied to my request for help identifying the parts I need), if l wish to get the repair done elsewhere but otherwise their ridiculously expensive repair rates will apply as the guarantee is only valid for two years. I complained to customer services, first by email regarding this unacceptable response more than six weeks ago and have phoned twice, a month ago and again two weeks ago, when l was promised my complaint had been escalated.I am still waiting for any reply, and in the meantime the light in my oven has also failed!I will let you decide whether to buy a Miele product but don't be taken in by their justification of high prices for premium quality.If a part as important as a door locking mechanism can fail after two uses this could be very dangerous in a household with small children or elderly residents and the length of a guarantee is irrelevant.Edit:As seen below I received a very promt reply from Miele and hope to be able update my review with a positive outcome soon.
