Worst company ever and such a scam. I live in Louisiana and my mother passed away. I called Miles Relocation to obtain pricing to move the hutch and china buffet from Ohio to New Orleans.
They took my deposit and subcontractor showed up and they called me from my mother’s house to tell me they wanted extra pay to wrap the hutch. They clearly knew from the recorded call what furniture I was moving. I was told from Tony that they would provide white glove service and wrap everything for protection. However when the movers showed up they told me that I had to pay 250.00 extra to move the hutch because it was glass and they were not communicated too correctly. Mind you I had already agree so 1600.00 move price. When I tried to tell the movers that I had clearly defined what was moving they told me it was not their problem and I needed to either pay the additional monies or they would cancel the contract and keep my 600.00. I was in a jam because my mom’s house had to be cleared that day so they held my furniture hostage until I paid.
To make matters worse Veronica in the office said oh well you signed a contract and there is a cancellation fee, I ask her to please listen to both the recorded calls and she said she did not have time to do that, horrible customer service and they could have cared less and did not even offer to make this right. After all who prices a hutch move and then charges extra because it has glass when they already had that information. They knew I was on a time crunch and did not have time to call anyone else and they took advantage of that.
Veronica was rude and would not even let me speak to anyone in management. The subcontractors was rude as well no Customer service skills at all. I plan to also reach out to BBB for my complaint.
I know it’s only 200.00 but it is principle for me and people should not be allowed to do business that treat their customers this way. Do not use this company!
