Cali DLX Plus Solid Ash Electric Guitar with Gig Bag:I researched this guitar and watched several reviews about it. It was acclaimed and pictured on Monoprice's website to be a inexpensive guitar with "premium Wilkinson parts"; however when I received it, I felt victimized by the "bait and switch" as did one other individual I observed in a Youtube video making the same exact assessments as I did. Specifically, the bridge was no longer the quality Wilkinson bridge as pictured, but just a cheap Japanese bridge. The pickups were also not the same. I'd been informed the pickups were Wilkinson Alnico pickups, but the guitar I received came equipped with low-end Wilkinson Ceramic pickups; the same pure garbage pickups as I'd had on another guitar. Additionally, the cosmetics were terrible; the middle piece of wood had a large knot in it; who wants a guitar body with a knothole in the wood? Additionally, the other 2 pieces of wood were paired up with the grain going in 2 distinctively different directions. Seems like a combination of boredom on the job and horrible quality control.When I called Monoprice and explained all of this to an agent. He asked for pictures, which I sent him. I told him if I could get a Strat that had all of the originally-advertised premium appointments, I would return the guitar for a replacement vs. a refund. He said he'd look into it. One week later, I received an email indicating that the guitar that I had requested for replacement was no longer available. Translation: Monoprice compromised the premium quality of the guitar and despite that it's still being advertised in the same manner, it is actually not the same quality guitar at all. Monoprice has no integrity and I will never buy a thing from a company that incorporates those types of advertising tactics; Bloat profits by cutting its overhead and using junk parts. Ultimately, I requested a refund and sent the guitar back. Still waiting to wrap up the process. A terribly disappointing buying experience. Stay away from Monoprice products.
