I’ve been a Monzo customer for a few years, and honestly, I used to love how simple and modern their app was. Unfortunately, things have really gone downhill. Customer service takes ages to respond , sometimes days, and when they finally do, the answers feel scripted and unhelpful.
I also had issues with an account freeze that came out of nowhere, leaving me unable to access my money for almost a week. The lack of communication was incredibly stressful. For a “digital-first” bank, you’d expect quick, clear updates, but instead, I was left in the dark.
Monzo used to feel like a friendly, transparent alternative to traditional banks. Now it feels like just another big company that’s forgotten the human side of banking. I’m seriously considering switching after this experience.
