I purchased a Citroën C4 Picasso from Motonet on 8 November 2025. Within minutes of leaving the forecourt, after stopping to refuel, the car began producing heavy white smoke from the exhaust. I raised this with the dealership in writing that week. The situation deteriorated quickly. On 24 November, the same smoke reappeared, and on 25 November the vehicle failed to start entirely, displaying: “Engine fault: have the vehicle repaired.” At this point the car became completely undriveable.I contacted Motonet repeatedly via email on 15, 20, 24, 25, 26 and 27 November, and again on 1 December, formally rejecting the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act on 24 November. Despite this, the dealership provided no written response at all for over two weeks.Because of the safety concerns and the lack of engagement, I commissioned two independent assessments:ClickMechanic — confirming multiple serious faults across the engine, emissions system, gearbox ECU and electrical systemsRAC Inspection — declaring the vehicle unsafe and unroadworthy, identifying ABS faults, DPF failure, electrical communication failures and other pre-existing defectsBoth mechanics confirmed that these issues clearly existed before purchase. After continued silence from Motonet, their legal representatives Lawgistics became involved. Instead of addressing the matter, they asked me to drive the car to Coventry for their chosen assessment, despite the RAC technician formally advising that the vehicle was unsafe to drive under any circumstances.Throughout this time, I was left without a functional family vehicle and had to rely on alternative transport and rental costs while receiving no meaningful communication or solution from Motonet.Based on the immediate failure of the vehicle, the confirmation from two independent professionals that the car was unsafe, and the lack of engagement from both Motonet and their representatives, I cannot recommend this dealership.
