I had a subscription given as an Xmas present. I filled in my likes etc and was sent several suggestions until one sounded appealing. However the book that was actually sent to me was by a completely different author - and was one that I'd already read! With the system this retailer uses one can't actually see the specific book they are recommending - only the author - nor what they've recommended in the past.I've just found myself returning books that I didn't want and have now cancelled the subscription.Save yourself a lot of hassle and just visit a bookshop!
