Spoke to Aqsa Ali - who promised me a great deal on a flight. She was a bit pushy in me making a decision. She then asked for a deposit of £100 to secure the seat, and then after about 4 days I could pay the rest. I asked for her to send me a secure link as I would be paying by credit card. I stated that I could pay the full payment now. She said no that she just needed a deposit, and I could pay the rest in 4 days, but I needed to contact her within the 4 days by a specific time or would loose the seat I booked. She further stated that I would need to transfer payment to their account by “Push Payment”. I declined and she spoke to her manager, and confirmed I could pay by card. I called her on the day to make the balance payment. She said that I would need to transfer funds to their account. If I want to pay by credit card, there would be a 5% surcharge. I informed her that the ban on surcharge was outlawed on 13th January 2018. I spoke to the airline direct with the reference booking number, and they could not trace anything. I know I was about to be scammed, but the scam used was to ensure that I could not make the balance payment and they either quote me a higher price or I forfeit my deposit. I’ve requested the recording of my conversation under GDPR but have not heard from them.
