I’ve used Gold Standard Nutrition (GSN) meals for a while, and overall they are tasty, convenient, and low in calories, which makes it easy to stay in a calorie deficit.However, as I’ve become more aware of ultra-processed foods, I’ve started to notice that many of GSN’s “Pots of Gold” meals verge on — and sometimes cross — that line. The flavourings, sauces, and additives in a lot of their meals make them less appealing if you’re trying to eat more whole, minimally processed foods.Because of this, I’ve decided to cut back significantly on how often I eat them. I’m now focusing more on batch cooking my own meals and using simple, whole ingredients for flavour. I might still grab a GSN meal occasionally if I’m really short on time, but I’m aiming to avoid them where possible.The frozen steamed chicken breast is an exception — it’s just plain chicken with no additives, which is great. That said, it’s quite expensive compared to buying and cooking fresh chicken from the supermarket, so I’ll probably only use it for convenience when needed.In summary, GSN meals are tasty and low-calorie, but it’s worth being mindful of what’s actually in the ingredients. Personally, I now prefer to stick with whole foods over semi-processed convenience meals.
I had GSN meals recommended by a friend. I ordered a nice selection of meals and wraps. They arrived very quickly. I am eating them nearly as quickly. They are filling. They are absolutely delicious. Ideal for taking to work for lunch. There are a good variety. They are not meals I would maje at home. In part because of ingredients but also my lack of cooking ability. Excellent value for money. Am getting ready to place another order and fill my freezer again. Cannot recommend them enough. Excellent product. Excellent price. Excellent service.
