Today, I called the vet to explain that our dog had been attacked a few weeks ago and that we had to take him to an emergency vet on a Saturday evening at around 7 o’clock. However, I was told that because he had been treated at the emergency vet, they would not look at him . It’s incredibly disheartening to see how uncaring the world can be. Imagine if a person went to the hospital for urgent care and was then refused treatment by their GP simply because they sought emergency help first—it would be unthinkable. Yet, that’s exactly what’s happening with veterinary care. It makes you wonder where the compassion has gone in a profession that is supposed to prioritize the well-being of animals.
