I spent £475 with Navionics to update my cards and convert to SD cards in Feb 2015.
The process of doing this took many days, numerous phone calls and many e mails not to mention chat sessions.
In today's world of plug and play it was unbelievable how painful the process was. After much effort I managed to get the cards to work.
I reported back to Navionics the specifics of where their instructions were ambiguous or misleading or just wrong and detailed where they might be able to improve their instructions. We had a correspondence about this especially with regard to the video instructions which I felt should be removed from the web site completely and replaced with clear written instructions.
I have today been to the web site to update my cards again on the anniversary of the of the previous update.
Firstly the pain continues. Their instructions are just as completely stupid as they were a year ago and in particular they simply do not tell you what to do if your cards have already been registered and there does not appear to be anyway around their assumption that your cards are unregistered.
Having wasted a whole morning trying to make head nor tail of this stupid web site I am told that the cards have expired. This must have been on the date of registration not the date that the updates were completed which was obviously a week or so later.
Am I fed up with Navionics. Yes I am. There is no way that I would wish to enter the update process more than once a year. There is simply not enough time left in my life to bother. So to convert to micro SD cost me £475 and I got no further updates.
They want me to pay another £475 to get my updates.
What a joke. It is simply not viable to do that. I feel completely ripped off.
