Payments into Savings AccountsBefore opening a savings account with Newcastle Building Society, I would strongly recommend you ask whether there are any restrictions on how you pay into the account ie by cash, cheque or debit card. I am currently in dispute with the Society over cash payments I have made into their Six Monthly Account. They need to be more upfront with customers at the point of opening accounts to avoid potential injury to feelings. I am currently raising this with the Financial Services OmbudsmanA word to the wise: As expected, no-one from Newcastle Building Society (alias Beth) ever got back to me. Beware of false promises!
