Terrible customer service.

So, my mother ordered a book from newport, got the order confirmed via email and then two weeks passed and nothing happened. I was asked to help with the support. Seemed nice enough at first. nothing to really pick on. The explanation we got was that the book was not available in stock, thus the customer service lady would contact stores that have it available and then send us an email within the next twenty-four hours with an update. All good and fine. Things like this happen. But now another week has gone by, nothing once again. So I called them once more, and after letting probably too many signals go through, a lady answers. I explain quickly the problem and say that my mother wants to cancel the order. The lady on the other end though is not actually part of the customer support team, and can't help us. The support was eating lunch, so she proposed that she'd make sure that they'd call us back a bit later. Once again, understandable. Two hours passed with no call, lunch break should be over by now and they should've probably even been able to go through other possible customers that have been waiting like me. So I call again, this time a man answers whom informs me that he also cannot help me, and the personnel that can do so aren't available. I've now sent two snarky emails similar to this review, one to the support and another to a direct email that the last man on the phone suggested. I will make this clear, on the phone I was talking with civilized people that respected me as a valuable customer, much like any other proper company would. But the support and service that I got was terrible, really just an unacceptable experience considering the time and effort put into this ordeal. TL;DR: If you want your products without playing tag over days or possibly even weeks with a terrible customer support, I suggest you steer clear of Newport.
