Extremely Biased. If you want to live in an echo chamber and can't handle opposing points of view, then this service is for you. If you like to hear all sides of a story/topic, then stay far away from this organization. As the name states, they guard you from actual news.

The teachers unions support this. The teachers unions are leftist, they would not support a tool such as this if it were centrist/neutral. CNN praises it. CNN is radically leftist, it would condemn Newsguard if it were centrist.Newsguard is a leftist tool, plain and simple.

"Newsguard" is a complete misnomer

"Newsguard" is a complete misnomer. IT decides what "news" you can get and IT doesn't guard anything except ITS own bias. It has done some ludicrous "guarding" such as preventing free speech and treating the public as half-way intelligent rather than deciding what we should read or believe. Just another high-tech censorship mechanism. When will the public wake up to this?

What a terrible idea for countering…

What a terrible idea for countering misinformation: pick an expert and go with what they think. No fact checking of your own. There is controversy in so many areas - just picking a person to listen to is like throwing a dart and. Things are seldom black and white and all companies like this do is get it wrong 50% of the time. And you're silencing people that have good counter positions - it's simply censorship. It takes a lot of arrogance to say that you can discern truth from fact in a complicated world, but that's what you say you do. We'd rather think for ourselves rather than believe your errors.
