This company has been a complete letdown in terms of how they treat their employees. My son began his job on New Year's Eve. His first shift was a struggle. After setting up the app, he managed to deliver about 10 papers before it crashed. He spent two hours in the freezing cold trying to reach someone for help. Eventually, they agreed to process the images themselves, allowing him to continue. However, he later received a call accusing him of theft and taking a 'joyride' around the area at 6 AM! Despite feeling upset, he finished the shift. On New Year's Day, he tried again, arriving at 4:10 AM as instructed. The app malfunctioned again, wasting more of his time, but at least he wasn't verbally abused this time. On his final day, he arrived at 4:10 AM, but the newspapers didn't arrive until nearly 5 AM. After getting the papers, the app crashed once more, and he received another hostile call accusing him of theft—when he attempted to explain, he was dismissed as a liar. To make matters worse, he spent £20 of his own money on papers that were promised to be reimbursed. After two days of such treatment, he decided to leave, only to be told he wouldn't be paid for his work because he hadn't given 28 days' notice. Despite being on a probationary period where they could have let him go for any mistakes, he was penalized for leaving due to their failures. There was no apology for the mistreatment or for the lack of support. I have never witnessed such poor working conditions! This company is a disaster; protect yourself and avoid working for them!
