We dealt with Samuel Ogden. Despite several requests, Samuel did not provide an accurate engagement letter reflecting the legal work that he would do. The letter incorrectly said that we were selling our property, when we were not selling our property at all - we just needed some quite specific, but simple legal work done to transfer a small piece of land to us from a neighbour. Nexa asked for £1000 on account up front from me, but after providing this I was unable to complete the online onboarding process due to the accuracy issues with the engagement letter. Samuel seemed to ignore the issue and did not respond to repeated requests to amend the engagement letter so that we could complete the onboarding process and he could start work. All this time, I was receiving quite regular automated chaser emails asking me to complete the onboarding! In the end, after Nexa Law had our £1000 for 2 weeks, I emailed the complaints contact. I then received a rather sanctimonious response directly from Samuel who offered us the option of finding alternative legal representation and immediately returning our funds. We provided our own feedback and confirmed we no longer wanted him to do the work and would like our £1000 back. Two working days later, we have had no response (again) and have still not received the funds. To say I am unhappy with this experience would be an understatement. I need to find another lawyer, and I also still need my money back! The whole experience has been a significant waste of my time. If I could give this individual lawyer zero stars, I would.
