One word: Disaster – extremely poor service from NextDayDeal

I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so frustrating that I feel compelled to warn others.On Saturday, 28th June, I contacted NextDayDeal’s customer service to check the delivery time for a Canon R7 with lens and an additional Canon 100–400mm lens. I was told that delivery is usually next day, but due to bad weather it might take 2–3 working days, meaning no later than Wednesday.I was due to leave for a long-planned photography holiday on Friday. Since they assured me it would arrive by Wednesday, I placed the order and paid over £1,800.From Tuesday, I checked regularly to confirm the parcel would arrive on time. Each time, they said yes. But the parcel never arrived – not on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or even Friday.Getting any real update was a struggle. They initially refused to give me a tracking number. On Thursday, they sent a misleading email saying the parcel had been shipped, yet still no tracking number. When I contacted DHL, they confirmed that no shipment had been registered or received.Only on Friday morning (2:00 AM!) did DHL show that a shipping label had been created – but still, the parcel hadn’t been handed over.Customer service kept stalling, telling me to “contact us in 2–3 hours,” then later promised that if I didn’t receive a tracking email by 6:30 PM Friday, I could choose a refund or a discount. I requested a refund after 7 PM – but was told to call back on Monday because “nothing could be done” at that time.At that point, I genuinely started to question whether this company was legitimate or just buying time.On Monday, someone named Daniel called me and said the parcel was now on its way, and I should receive it by Tuesday. DHL told me it would more likely arrive Wednesday or Thursday – well beyond the promised date.This experience ruined what should’ve been the best photo expedition of my life. I lost money, had to reschedule travel, forfeited a non-refundable hotel, and missed priceless moments with friends – all because this company failed to deliver as promised and handled the situation poorly.Bottom line:If you’re tempted to save a few pounds with this retailer, ask yourself if it’s worth the risk.Expect delays far beyond what they advertise. Expect zero accountability, unclear communication, and broken promises.I regret not buying from a trusted high-street retailer. Instead, I paid a high price — not just in money, but in time, stress, and lost memories.After posting this review, I received over 30 phone calls, including from hidden numbers and WhatsApp. The company also threatened to void my warranty and blacklist my product unless I removed the review.This behaviour is deeply unprofessional and I consider it harassment.I have reported this to Trustpilot and relevant consumer protection bodies.
