This app is not fit for purpose and isn't working, it is wrong that patients are being forced onto this system without even been asked and not at all helpful to patients like us.We had a text message informing us that as from the 10th October telephone prescription requests would no longer be accepted but to use the app or go to the surgery. My partner and i have many health issues and i myself do not get around as due to spinal problems its difficult trying to walk. From the 10th of October the system crashed and there was nearly 300 patients who never received their prescriptions and the reception staff were having to do them manually. Following this my partner put his through on the app only to find it didn't go through and had to re do it again but still up to writing this review has not got his prescription and hasn't been able to book a doctors appointment on this app either. We have had a really bad weekend in severe pain because of not getting the prescriptions that were due. Whereas before, we could phone up and it would be done that day, . My partner has to go down to the surgery now to request my prescription at the, desk due to me not getting about anymore at a cost of £10 a time in taxis which is becoming very costly as having to go down every week. When my partner phoned up following problems logging in by the time they sorted it they could of just ordered the prescription. Its a,complete waste of time and money , and not at all helpful in situations like ours and we feel for those elderly patients too who are not online and struggle to get around. No thought given to peoples situations. In this modern world everyone relies on an electrical computer system where no one has any backup when the system is down and it stands to reason that its so unreliable and with everyone on it the system cannot cope, overloaded and crashes. Not to mention the vulnerability of such information on this system. Even the doctors at our surgery agree .Computer systems are creating more stress for people and generates more complications. Its not quick instant. There was far less stress and things were done properly in the old days, whilst the modern world is good for some things but not for many others. As for this so called app lets scrap it and go back to the way it was before. Its not worth the bother and its been several days now since my partner put his prescription request in but not got. He is now on the phone requesting doctors appointment. Ridiculous. Not worth The bother.Scrap this nhs app.
