We have been struggling with our son’s sleep. He wakes regularly at night. The paediatrician suggested a night nanny to see if they can diagnose what may be going on. My son has a bad tongue tie that was snipped and we are fairly certain that is the underlying cause. Anyway we were paired with Su who gave us a call to discuss her services. Without hearing much she immediately jumped to “there’s no point in me coming to your house if he doesn’t take a bottle and any breastfeeding mom who tells me their baby sleeps through the night is lying to me and secretly cosleeping.”I clearly explained that when he wakes he isn’t always looking for food. That there’s something else waking him. She doubled down on that he needs a bottle and that would be the solution. I tried to explain I’m not against a bottle for occasional use but having it as a standard isn’t really what we want. Also we’ve been told by two medical professionals that he currently isn’t able to latch a bottle which is why he won’t take one. Her response was that she just needed an hour with him and he would take the bottle. I felt like she didn’t listen, clearly has one solution and isn’t flexible on other solutions. We haven’t gone ahead with her services because we think she isn’t the right fit for us. I was expecting something more professional and kind.
