We started using Night Zookeeper a few months ago. My goals were to improve spelling, increase length of writing, and expose them to more vocabulary. I am thrilled to say it has been a success so far. The kids really enjoy the platform and easily navigate through the lessons and extras. The feedback they receive for their writings is helpful and insightful, helping them improve and grow as writers.
As a parent who is not into gaming, I do find the parent side a little challenging to navigate.
We love Night Zoo Keeper. We've used it 2 different school years now. We used it the first year, as my 3rd and 5th grader transitioned to homeschool from public school only a few months before the end of the school year, and I needed a reliable English program for the kids, Night ZooKeeper has been a great find! We used it again for 4th & 6th grade (but this time as a fun addition to their homeschool curriculum) because it's helping my 4th & 6th grader with spelling confidence, but it's also been a great way for them improve their writing creativity and they laugh and smile at their creativity. It's also great for helping to grow their vocabulary. My kids enjoy NightZookeeper, and they are learning at the same time.
We use this to complement our homeschool curriculum and it’s a great way to add extra fun and excitement to learning. My kids enjoy it a lot and really are learning more.
We did the free trial and have since bought Night Zookeeper. My child is delayed but loves spending every day playing Night Zookeeper. He has increased his reading, his curiosity is back and his confidence has grown!
My family has been using this service for around ten months. While it's not the most thorough writing learning tool available, my children generally enjoy the games and social media features. Recently, my oldest daughter pointed out a troubling aspect of the terms and conditions (a mistake on my part for not reviewing them initially). By using this service, you relinquish complete intellectual property rights to anything your children submit, including their writing, artwork, and ideas, allowing the service to use them however they wish, without crediting the child in any way. This is particularly significant for my daughter, who is a talented writer and artist, as it means she is giving away ownership of her creations. This doesn't just seem like a marketing tactic; it feels more like an operation that collects ideas for a fee. Moreover, when my daughter submitted a thoughtful piece to inform other children about this issue, so they could make informed choices regarding their intellectual property, the service edited her submission to remove that important information. This is deeply concerning. While I acknowledge the program's entertaining approach to helping kids enhance their storytelling skills, I feel it's crucial to inform other parents about these potential issues with the service. You may choose to continue using it, but ensure your children are aware so they can decide what ideas, writing, and artwork they are comfortable giving up ownership of.
The terms and conditions can be found on their website for anyone to review.
