I feel seriously wronged and taken advantage of by this rental company.
At pickup, in Florence, Italy, there was no inspection of the vehicle at all, and I was not instructed to take photos or properly document its condition. I was also not provided with clear or verifiable evidence of the car’s pre-existing damages. This left me completely unprotected from the start.
At return, I was accused of causing a “new scratch” that I am certain I did not make. When I requested proof, the staff showed only a zoomed-in image of pre-existing damages, without any clear before-and-after comparison of the specific area they are now claiming as new.
No time-stamped photos, no proper check-in/check-out report, and no objective evidence were provided to support this charge.
I was then required to pay €230 for this alleged damage, which I consider unjustified and unacceptable.
This kind of practice leaves customers fully exposed and makes it very easy to impose charges without proper accountability. I find this situation extremely unfair.
I will be pursuing this matter through all available consumer protection channels.
I strongly advise future customers to take extensive photos and videos at pickup, as you may otherwise be held responsible for damages you did not cause.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company.
