Mechanically my 10 year old treadmill is working as well as the day I bought it. However, the software has problems and needs an update. When I contacted the company their response was they don't do software updates on machines that old weather they work or not. So...... I should throw my working treadmill in the garbage and buy a new one from them. Forget it I'll go somewhere that they actually support their customers. My response to their response. I think you've misunderstood what I'm trying to get other customers to understand. Mechanically there is nothing wrong with my treadmill. However... The treadmill has told us that it will not continue to work until it receives a software update. The old software can't be used to make it work and there's no new software to make it work. Hence my title “planned obsolescence”. NordicTrack won't let me use old software and won't give me new software so therefore my treadmill that has nothing wrong with it mechanically is just a paperweight.
