I left 10 days later realising how realistically my expectations had been managed; there was pain, but it was managed, and there was physical trauma, which receded with satisfying speed through the door excellent on-site physiotherapy (which was also a social occasion every day).Nord is a production line, churning out successful hips and knees every day, but it always felt personal, and I can't think of anything that should have been included in the treatment package which was not. 12 days after the operation I am walking confidently without crutches (now that I am away from the ice underfoot in Kaunas), and continue to be cautiously delighted with my daily progress.
