I am a former member of the gravesend gym however due to me only attended once I cancelled the direct debit as a way to cancel membership which is as most reputable 24 hour gyms do.I received a text message seeking payment which had an email address so emailed for clarification. I received a reply from a Deborah who works for the company who manages their subscription fees called Harland. I explained that I had received a text inwhich she advised me about a 30 day notice needed before cancellation and that the date of my email sent would be the start of my notice to quit/ cancel. I emailed Deborah in reply and asked to clarify what the final payment would be as in is it the months membership fee of £18.99. I never received a reply back. Checked my emails 4am the next morning and the £18.99 has now jumped to £43.99 including a late fee and administration charge from an automated service. But Deborah hadn’t replied to the email I sent.NRG gyms membership management isn’t clear even when you go into the app there is no option that you can select for cancelling that could even forward you to the correct procedure. STAY CLEAR- an absolutely MONEY MAKING SCAM. They don’t reply to emails yet throw extra charges on.This is the only gym brand I’ve come across that manages their cancellations through an horrendous not advertised process. It’s an absolute money making scheme for their collector service and it’s not worth it. Pure Gyms and The gym are far better in equipment quality, customer service and processes.
