I recently used NLSA Carship LLC to arrange the transport of two vehicles from California to Georgia, with Auto Line Express Inc. handling the actual shipment. Overall, the experience had some positives but was marred by pricing issues that felt deceptive.
On the positive side, the service representatives at NLSA, particularly Walter Vance, were friendly, professional, and responsive to texts. The vehicles arrived without any damage, which was a relief. Auto Line Express did a solid job with the transport itself.
However, my main concern was with NLSA’s quoting process. The initial quote was around $750 per vehicle (totaling $1,500 all-inclusive, including door-to-door service, insurance up to $250,000, and allowance for personal items). As the move date approached, they cited reasons like driver availability and weather to double the price to $3,000. After some negotiation over the phone, we settled at $2,600—still significantly higher than originally quoted. This bait-and-switch tactic seemed designed to capitalize on customers’ limited options close to the deadline, which left a bad taste. Additionally, while the service representatives were very helpful, their accents made phone conversations challenging at times.
For Auto Line Express, the only minor hiccup was having to Uber to nearby locations (like a Walmart) for pickup and drop-off, adding unexpected costs and inconvenience.
If you’re considering these companies, weigh the reliable delivery against potential price hikes. I suggest getting everything in writing and exploring backups early on.
