I’ve completed a few kits from Number Artist now and I’ve really enjoyed the experience overall. The designs are beautiful and the finished pieces have real impact once completed. The canvases are clear and easy to follow, and I like the variety of shades included, especially in the larger colour-count kits.
My most recent painting had 54 colours, which gave it great depth and detail. It definitely took time and patience, but the end result felt worth it. I also appreciated the opportunity to build up layers and soften transitions between shades rather than it looking too blocky.
The only small issue I had was with one of the reds provided for the lips in a portrait piece. It was much stronger than the reference image, so I adjusted and mixed my own softer tones to get the look I wanted. That said, the overall quality and vibrancy of the colours have been very good.
Overall, I’ve found Number Artist kits to be enjoyable, good quality and a great way to develop blending and layering skills. I’d happily purchase again.
