A salesman came to provide a quote for loft insulation recently. He was overly aggressive in trying to secure our business, making false claims (like saying we couldn't dispose of old fibreglass ourselves, which is legal). He took photos of what he claimed were 'dangerous mould spores' that were actually just dirt. He suggested that the old fibreglass would lead to black mould in our home, but we saw no evidence. He also attempted to pressure us into the sale by sharing personal stories about needing the job to support his family. After two hours of trying to convince us, he insinuated we were foolish for not proceeding. He claimed that workers could start immediately, which didn't reassure us. Thankfully, we managed to decline, but I worry about how he might treat vulnerable individuals. We were completely disheartened. Unless you're absolutely sure you need loft insulation and can afford it, steer clear of this service.
