Absolute robbery
Do not let surveyors in your home. Their tactics are disgusting and should be ashamed of themselves targeting old and vulnerable. They quote government guidelines about epc ratings making out its a legal requirement which it isn't unless you intend to rent out your property, and even if you do this job can be done by a regular handyman for around £1000 or less as a simple YouTube video will take you through it, this company are charging people thousands for over glorified basic foil insulation. Avoid and warn your elderly family members.
We had the insulation fitted in October 2025 and on the .January 2026 Ian (from Nutec)called in to inspect the fitting of the insulation and found that it required some additional work.
Ian and Lee came 3 days later and rectified the problem. We can not fault the service the company provided and we would gladly recommend them.
Recently, a representative visited us to provide a quote for loft insulation, and it became clear he was desperate to secure our business. He misrepresented facts, claiming we couldn't dispose of old fibreglass ourselves at the local disposal site, saying it was illegal and that we had to pay them to remove it. After doing some research, we found this information to be completely untrue. He took pictures of what he called 'dangerous mould spores' in the existing fibreglass, which were merely dirt from the rafters, and warned us that this mould could lead to black mould seeping into our home. We found no evidence to back this up. His sales tactics included emotional manipulation, suggesting he needed our sale to support his children’s education and pleading for feedback on why we weren't proceeding. He shared a sob story about failing in his job and pressured us to sign immediately by mentioning a limited-time voucher that could help us save a significant amount. After two hours of persistent pressure, he implied we were foolish for not moving forward. He also claimed that workers were ready to start almost immediately, which made us uneasy. Thankfully, we managed to decline, but I worry about others, especially the elderly or vulnerable, facing such aggressive tactics. Had I been alone, I would have felt very intimidated. We were thoroughly disappointed. Unless you are absolutely certain you need loft insulation and have the budget for it, I recommend avoiding this company.
