I use an pay-as-you-go SIM purely as a backup business number. It’s only there so I don’t have to give out my personal number—very basic use.
But even for something this simple, the experience has been incredibly frustrating.
I topped up my account and wanted to check how much credit I had left. The app just shows a message saying “this information is unavailable right now.” No balance, no useful info—nothing.
So I assumed it was just the app playing up. I deleted it and logged in via the website instead… and it’s exactly the same issue there too. Same message, same problem—still no way to see my balance.
This isn’t some advanced feature—it’s literally the most basic function of a pay-as-you-go service. You add credit, you check your balance. The fact that this doesn’t work properly on BOTH the app and website is honestly ridiculous.
Looking at reviews on places like , it seems like this kind of issue isn’t exactly rare either.
I genuinely can’t believe something this simple doesn’t work properly. Fine if you just need a throwaway number, but beyond that, I wouldn’t rely on O2 for anything important.
