I had a bank draft drawn up in a Singapore OCBC bank to transfer the funds to a US Bank . When the draft was presented to the US Bank it was rejected .The US Bank said the fault was with OCBC. When this matter was brought up to OCBC Singapore in physical presence, I was told that it was not OCBC 's fault but they will investigate anyways. They will call me back but never did. I returned to see them in the next few days and again told they were investigating and they will call back . Surprise! Surprise !! they again never did . Meanwhile , the US recipient returned the draft through Fedex, costing USD 120 dollars. This draft was brought to OCBC for an explanation. They only then said that the recipient must get a letter from the US bank detailing why the draft was rejected before OCBC will entertain any queries. They claimed that the OCBC entry into the recipient bank was thrown out after an acceptance . No explanation was given to enlighten. After having to queue up at the bank each time to see the bank teller and each time being sent on a wild goose chase, and faced with stone walling and stalling tactics,I had enough ,and decided to cancel the whole draft . I will suffer losses for the charges levied in the buying of the draft, exchange rate costs and in the reversing of the process and the prevailing exchange USD-SGD rate . Bad experience from the customer service in their reluctance to be up front and delaying tactics to avoid direct engagement. OCBC deserves all the bad reviews reported here. Never ever again OCBC !!!!
