Do Not Use Olympus Chimney Pros of Clearwater (aka Universal Chimney). They appear to do a good job but are exorbitantly OVER-PRICED.I do not recommend this company to have your chimney cleaned and inspected. $1,175 to inspect, clean, and apply a minor amount of mortar – all within one hour. A $69 inspection fee quickly becomes a whole lot more. After the inspection, I was advised that I needed a thorough cleaning and needed some mortar repair for areas inside the fireplace (not the chimney.) Yes, I was advised of the $1100 cost and envisioned a super cleaning and the application of an extensive amount of mortar. What I observed was a “good” (nothing incredible) cleaning of the chimney itself and the fireplace, and the application of small amount of mortar that appeared to take less than 10 minutes. For the stated cost I thought there was a lot more mortar damage that was going to be repaired. The invoice indicated the mortar application was $500 – less than 10 minutes of labor and possibly less than $10 worth of mortar. Olympus Chimney Pros of Clearwater are exorbitantly overpriced for the service provided. Their invoice states the name of the company as Universal Chimney. The technician was friendly, appeared to be knowledgeable and efficient, however the cost of service clearly does not match up with the service provided – not a good value. Lastly, when I tried to leave a Google Review using the link on their website. It is conveniently disabled. I imagine the reviews they do have (all five stars according to their website) are fictitious.Fool me once, shame on me. I absolutely will not be using Olympus Chimney Pros of Clearwater (aka Universal Chimney) ever again.
